ABOUT
For groups already organized, in the process of preparing, or want to get ready, there's a new resource in town: the Berkeley Disaster Preparedness Neighborhood Network (or "the Network" for short).
The Network was created for the purpose of:
- Assisting interested individuals/groups in organizing, and "fizzled" groups in reestablishing themselves.
- Informing and educating Network participants on multipleissues of concern to them.
- Developing uniform best practices and procedures.
- Determining the areas of Berkeley not presently organized and assisting these neighborhoods developing a response capability.
- Assisting established groups in spreading their reach into adjacent neighborhoods in order to set up an expanded disaster response capability.
The Network has six Committees:
- Mentoring
- Communications
- Group/Bulk Purchasing
- Disaster Field Manual/ICS
- Maps
- Online Presence
